"If you're thinking about picking up Meta's latest smart glasses, there's a new program you'll want to know about. For the first time, you can trade in older devices and get credit toward the purchase of new Meta Oakley or Ray-Ban smart glasses. Meta hasn't officially announced anything, but there is a terms and conditions page for the new program on Meta's site."
"Here's how the process works: Start by purchasing a trade-in eligible new device from the Meta Store. This includes the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1, the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, the Oakley Meta HSTN, and the Oakley Meta Vanguard. After your purchase is complete, you'll get an order confirmation email with a trade-in questionnaire link. Answer all the questions about your trade-in, and you'll get a quote and instructions for packaging and mailing your current device."
Meta launched a trade-in program that accepts original Meta smart glasses and select earbuds from Apple, Beats, and Samsung for credit toward new Oakley or Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. Trade-in values reported at roughly $110 for first-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses and about $70 for eligible earbuds. Devices must be operational and include their charging case. Each new purchase qualifies for one trade-in device. Eligible new models include Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1 and Gen 2, Oakley Meta HSTN, and Oakley Meta Vanguard. After purchase, buyers receive a trade-in questionnaire, a quote, packaging instructions, and a pre-paid shipping label. The program runs through December 31, 2025.
