The Verge's favorite tools to help with a move
Briefly

In a recent discussion among The Verge staff about the stressful experience of moving, several team members shared their favorite gadgets and tools that made the process easier. They emphasized practical items like thick-tipped Sharpies for labeling boxes, color-coded systems to organize items by room, and even simple plastic stretch wrap to simplify packing. These shared insights reflect the collaborative effort to identify helpful solutions for anyone undergoing a move, showcasing the unexpected ways that technology and thoughtful organization can relieve moving-day stress.
I use thick-tipped Sharpies to write on the sides and tops of the boxes, using labels like: Shelve, Store, Autographed, or Book Fairies.
Color-code your boxes by room, one on every side, making it quick and easy to figure out where every single box and container should go.
The one tool that still stands out in my mind as the absolute hero was a simple 15-inch wide roll of plastic stretch wrap.
We all discovered at least one tool, app, or gadget that turned out to be really (and sometimes unexpectedly) helpful in making things a little easier.
