The Exynos 2600 is gaining attention for its GPU performance, scoring 3,135 points in the 3DMark Steel Nomad Light benchmark, which is 15% higher than the Snapdragon 8 Elite. However, this score comes from a test bench setup that can show enhanced performance due to better cooling. The chipset is not yet in its final form and is expected to be officially released in early 2026 alongside the Galaxy S26 series, with potential changes to clock speeds before its launch. Final performance comparison with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 remains to be seen.
An X user posted a photo of 3DMark's Steel Nomad Light benchmark with the Exynos 2600 scoring impressive 3,135 points, which is about 15% higher than what you would expect from a Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered smartphone.
Samsung's SoC appears to be running on a test bench, which often outperforms smartphones since it has better cooling, and with better cooling comes higher raw performance.
This probably isn't the final version of the chipset, as it's scheduled to arrive in early 2026 along with the Galaxy S26 series, and there may be some changes to the clock speeds, for example.
At the end of the day, it's too early to tell whether the Exynos 2600 will outperform Qualcomm's best hardware, but these preliminary results sure do look promising.
