Mobile World Congress 2025 has commenced in Barcelona, where Google announced two innovative AI features for Android devices set to roll out soon. The first, Live Video, utilizes Gemini's capabilities for real-time interaction via the camera. The second, screensharing, allows users to query Gemini about displayed content. While these features echo offerings from ChatGPT, they integrate seamlessly into existing apps without needing separate platforms. The rollout for Gemini Advanced subscribers begins this month, available through the $20 Google One AI Premium plan.
The first is Live Video, which Google first showed at I/O 2024 last May. The tool takes advantage of Gemini's multi-modal capabilities to allow users to show the chatbot what their phone's camera sees.
As mentioned, Google will begin rolling out live video and screensharing to Gemini Advanced subscribers starting later this month. Gemini Advanced is included in the company's $20 per month Google One AI Premium plan.
