Free Gemini users just got a big upgrade, plus paid users got a new Live perk
Briefly

Google is enhancing its Gemini AI, making a premium memory feature available for free to all users and introducing a visual capability called Gemini Live. Users can now save personal information such as interests and preferences to receive more relevant responses. This memory feature, which was previously exclusive to Gemini Advanced, promotes better personalization. Additionally, the Gemini Live feature enables users to share their screen or live video for interactive experiences. Initially available to paid users, it is part of Google's effort to upgrade its AI offerings and improve functionality across devices.
As part of its ongoing quest to continue upgrading its AI, Google is making some changes to Gemini -- making a paid feature free to everyone and giving Gemini the ability to see the world around it.
The ability for Gemini to remember your preferences, interests, work, and more is coming to all users. This feature debuted last November as a Gemini Advanced exclusive.
Gemini Live can now 'see' -- either from your screen or from a live video. This feature, which will be rolling out later this month, is only available to paid Gemini Advanced users for now.
You will need to add each piece of saved info manually. To do so, head to the settings menu and find 'Saved info.' The feature does appear to be rolling out on the desktop version first.
