"Casely first recalled over 429,000 of its 5,000mAh Power Pods wireless power banks in April 2025 following 51 reports of their lithium-ion batteries overheating, expanding or catching fire, resulting in six minor burn injuries."
"Both the company and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission are reannouncing the same recall today following 28 additional reports of batteries overheating, including a serious incident on a plane and the death of a 75-year-old New Jersey woman."
"Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled Power Pods power banks immediately, and dispose of them properly using local facilities that can safely handle lithium-ion batteries."
"Due to the risk of fire and explosions, the power banks should not be placed in the trash, recycling bins, or the used battery boxes found at many electronics retailers."
