Two brothers, Aldino and Valdir Centeio from Stoughton, tragically died while fishing off Little Compton, Rhode Island. On July 12, when one fell into the water, the other jumped in to save him, but both were swept away by the current. Family members set up a GoFundMe for their funeral costs, which will also support their mother, as Aldino was the family's primary provider. The fundraiser raised over $23,000 as of Wednesday night, reflecting their impact on the community.
"That act of love and bravery speaks volumes about the kind of men they were - selfless, courageous, and full of heart," the GoFundMe, managed by the brothers' cousin, Iva Andrade, said.
"[Aldino and Valdir] were sons, brothers, uncles, friends - bright, vibrant souls who touched the lives of so many," the GoFundMe reads.
