Scott is a prominent philanthropist worth about $40 billion and a Giving Pledge signatory. In 2025 Scott donated $7.1 billion and has given more than $26 billion since 2019. Scott has directed over $700 million this year to HBCUs, more than $1.2 billion total, with many grants unrestricted. A $3 million gift funded the Toni Morrison Endowed Chair at Howard University in 2022.
