Daniel 'Stanley' Watts, a salon owner and avid runner, plans to participate in the London Marathon after being inspired by UK Youth's work at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre. Having run several marathons and completed unique night runs, he emphasizes this marathon as a special endeavor in his running calendar. His motivation stems from a memorable father-son experience at the Outdoor Centre, which was his first break as a single dad. This April, he will not only run the marathon but also cherish moments from his previous visit, as they've booked to return for Easter.
"I thought I've got to go into full dad mode, so we got a campervan. I was looking for things to do for kids in the New Forest, because I didn't want to go too far."
"This is not my first marathon, but it's the only one I'm going to do this year."
"I wanted to see some people. I've done it officially two or three times, but it can be a bit overwhelming, with the crowds."
"It was awesome. We've actually booked to go again for Easter."
