Volunteers from King George and Queen's Hospitals successfully completed a tandem skydive to raise funds for their charity, amassing £6,800. The event involved 12 participants, including staff members and patient coordinators who embraced the exhilarating challenge of jumping from 12,000 feet. The funds raised will be used for various projects aimed at improving patient care and providing essential extra services that enhance the hospital experience, including transformative healing spaces like the Lavender Garden. Communications lead Kyra Swaby highlighted how this initiative boosts awareness for the charity's ongoing endeavors.
The skydive was a thrilling experience for the volunteers, with one participant saying, 'I decided to take part in the skydive... an incredible feeling being on top of the world.'
