Dan Colen's Sky High Farm Launches New Fundraising Biennial Exhibition
Briefly

Dan Colen is launching a biennial exhibition titled "TREES NEVER END AND HOUSES NEVER END" at Sky High Farm in Upstate New York this summer, featuring over 50 artists. The event, set to open on June 28 at an apple cold storage warehouse, marks a significant move for the nonprofit organization to a larger 560-acre property. Curated by Colen, the exhibition explores the juxtaposition of industrial and natural worlds, inspired by the warehouse’s historical roots. It includes works from renowned artists as well as local talents, fostering community engagement and support for the nonprofit.
"This tension between the natural world and the industrial world-that's really the impetus for the show," said Colen, highlighting the exhibition's thematic focus.
"Standing right next to the building, you see the evidence that was left behind by that moment in time," Colen reflected on the historical context of the apple warehouse.
Colen expressed that moving to Columbia County in 2012 was unplanned, indicating a deep personal connection to the Sky High Farm project.
The exhibition will include works from over 50 artists, bridging prominent figures and regional talents, thus enriching the local art scene.
