After losing her Malibu home, Paris Hilton is raising $1 million to get women-owned businesses back on their feet | Fortune
"Women-owned businesses are really the heart of so many of these communities. I want to be able to lift up and support them, shine a light on them and really make a difference in their lives."
"Hilton and those organizations deployed over $1 million in cash grants to 50 women-owned small businesses after the LA fires, which destroyed her own Malibu home. Losing the home where she was raising her young children has been very emotional, and spurred her to think of other mothers who'd lost not just houses but income to support their families."
"The grants of up to $25,000 went to owners of child care centers, bakeries, bookshops, dance studios and salons damaged by the Eaton fire, which devastated the community of Altadena. The money helped cover rent, payroll, replacing equipment and rebuilding."
Paris Hilton established the Back in Business Recovery Fund to support female small-business owners affected by disasters, with an initial $350,000 donation and a goal to raise $1 million by March. The initiative partners with her organization 11:11 Media Impact and GoFundMe.org, which contributed $100,000. Following the 2025 LA fires that destroyed her Malibu home, Hilton and these organizations distributed over $1 million in grants to 50 women-owned businesses, providing up to $25,000 each for child care centers, bakeries, bookshops, dance studios, and salons. The grants covered rent, payroll, equipment replacement, and rebuilding costs. One year later, 90% of grantee businesses remain operational, with support from the Pasadena Women's Business Center providing technical assistance and mentorship.
