A rare Chinese-language Bible donated to a UK charity thrift store, Oxfam, sold for an astonishing $72,902 at auction, significantly surpassing its initial valuation of $777 to $1,036. Discovered by volunteers, the Bible is considered the first complete translation into Chinese. Nick Reeves, the charity bookstore manager, expressed his disbelief at the auction's outcome, highlighting the unexpected value of donations. Oxfam's Ian Falkingham noted that while every donation is meaningful, finding something of such extraordinary worth is particularly special for the charity.
