Talks on Syria's Future Fall Short of Promises, Participants Say
Briefly

The national dialogue conference aimed at establishing a representative government after decades of dictatorship in Syria, ended with dissatisfaction among participants. Many, including law professor Ibrahim Draji, criticized the lack of transparency and unclear invitations, calling the event inadequate for genuine national dialogue. Initially, attendees held high hopes to influence Syria's political future, following promises from the rebel coalition to create a more inclusive governance structure post-Bashar al-Assad. However, doubts about the commitment of new leadership emerged from the conference discussions.
