Strike calendar: France braces for a winter of disruption

The main rail unions have issued a joint strike call for Thursday, November 21st. Initially a one-day action they promised 'longer and stronger' action over the winter.
The fact that all unions are joined in action means that disruption is likely to be significant. The strike could also drag on as their grievances are complicated.
Protests by farmers brought parts of France to a standstill in January and February before they agreed to end their campaign after being promised extra government aid.
Nine months on, however, they say that the promised help is yet to materialise and union leaders are calling for a restart of the protests.
