President Macron dissolved the lower house of France's parliament after his party's humbling defeat by the far-right in the European elections, setting up legislative elections on June 30 and July 7.
The far-right National Rally party was estimated to win 31%-32% of votes, exceeding Macron's party's 15%. Macron, not an EU elections candidate, expressed confidence in democracy and vowed to address concerns.
