The opening ceremony for the Paris Olympics will be anything but traditional. About 10,500 athletes will parade on more than 90 boats on the Seine River for 6 kilometers, marking the start rather than the end of the ceremony.
The parade will pass several Olympic venues including La Concorde Urban Park, Invalides, and the Grand Palais. It will end at the Iena Bridge, leading to the Trocadero district where the ceremony's finale will take place.
