In a thrilling day of cycling, the Groupama-FDJ team celebrated Romain Grégoire's victory in the Faun Ardèche Classic while simultaneously facing heartache at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Stefan Küng made a daring late breakaway attempt but was caught just two kilometers before the finish. Reflecting on his brave strategy, Küng expressed pride in his effort and his team’s support, emphasizing the boost in confidence gained despite not winning at Omloop. This intense race serves as preparation for the upcoming Classics season.
The course was a kilometre too long, unfortunately, but I had to try. I gave it everything, and that's how I want to race throughout the Classics.
I'm happy and proud with my teammates. We stayed calm because we knew it would play out after the Molenberg, giving me the chance to attack.
