The World Health Organization has described the state of healthcare in Gaza as being 'beyond words'. Budair called the situation 'completely unimaginable' and regretted the lack of staff and medical equipment at the European hospital.
He also recounted how two of his patients were severely injured in separate missile strikes and survived complex surgery, but later died of an infection that their bodies were too weak to cope with.
