Tickets for the Louvre in Paris have risen by almost 30% to 22 (19) in the latest price rise before the French capital hosts the Olympic Games in the summer.

Other prices are also rising in the French capital for the Olympics, most notably metro tickets, which will nearly double during the Games in July and August. France managed to evade some of the high inflation experienced around the world in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, although prices still rose 4.9% and 5.2% in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
