The rare jug and basin given by Marie Antoinette to a close friend were returned after 37 years. The porcelain, hand-painted in vivid sky-blue, was stolen in 1987 from the Chateau de Thoiry and found by detectives.
Only 20 porcelain pieces were painted with the distinct blue color. The items were given to Louise-Elisabeth de Croy de Tourzel, a governess to the royal children, by Marie Antoinette.
