A group of Gisele Pelicot's Australian admirers expressed their gratitude towards the victim in France's infamous drugging-and-rape case, as she acknowledged their support by wearing a scarf gifted from them.
The silk scarf, which cost 220 Australian dollars, was given by the Older Women's Network, whose chief executive Yumi Lee stated that they were honored that the victim accepted their gesture.
The scarf served not only as a symbol of solidarity from Australia but also highlighted the distance in geography and support among women fighting against sexual violence.
Despite the distance, the Australian group felt compelled to support the victim in Avignon, as they campaign on issues related to sexual violence and needed a way to express their unity.
