Dockworkers in Fos-sur-Mer, near Marseille, have stood against loading crates of ammunition components that could contribute to violence in Gaza. The decision, announced by the CGT trade union, emphasizes the dockers' ethical stance against what they describe as genocide orchestrated by Israel, as they push for adherence to international law. Union leaders celebrated this act of solidarity, highlighting the responsibility of workers to uphold peace and human rights. While the shipment intended for military use has been set aside, the dockers express pride in their action and call for a halt to arms deliveries to Israel.
We managed to identify it and set it aside... once dockers refuse to load a shipment, no one else can do it for them.
It is unacceptable that CGT dockers should be the ones forced to uphold the fundamental principles of international law and French values.
