Analysis of more than 46,000 pubs across England and Wales finds nearly 80% facing increases and 11% in the most severe tiers. Business-rate rises add to other sector pressures including rising wages, higher National Insurance, increased alcohol duty, and high energy costs. Several individual pubs face very large absolute and percentage hikes.
