"McDonald's breakfast always hit better when the hotcakes were served in styrofoam and the hash browns in cardboard sliders."
"Hotcakes from McDonald's in the '90s hit different"
"I miss this and the foam container"
"Where's the cream cheese"
The 1990s featured novelty McDonald's offerings such as the Beef Wennington, the McJordan Special, the short-lived McLobster, and frosted danishes. The 1990s Big Breakfast, also called Deluxe Breakfast, arrived on yellow styrofoam trays and included hotcakes, scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, and a biscuit for about $2.50. The contemporary Big Breakfast contains eggs, a sausage, a hash brown, and a biscuit and costs more than double that price; the Big Breakfast with Bacon and Hotcakes costs even more. Online nostalgia frequently recalls foam containers, hotcakes, and lower fast-food breakfast prices.
