The duo are well aware that Bravo is flooded with " break-up posts " reviews on Yelp from disappointed erstwhile diners over the past year, and they are ready to turn things around."
"There will soon be a new pink gumball machine in the place of the old pink gumball machine - just like the one Hernandez used to put a quarter in to watch the little gumball fall. Sitting in the empty restaurant that they hoped would fill with customers the next day, Yu and Hernandez couldn't help but reminisce about how they got here."
Bravo Pizza reopened after a two-month closure under new co-owners Sam Hernandez and Jason Yu, who bought the restaurant in December 2025. The owners plan to preserve the pizzeria's signature San Franciscan-style deep-dish made from the original two-pound dough while adding a garlic-crust option and updated chicken-wing flavors including lemon pepper, garlic parmesan, buffalo, and honey garlic butter. Chef Jimmy Prokopos, son of a former owner, will help maintain continuity. The owners intend to restore customer loyalty after negative Yelp reviews, add nostalgic touches such as a pink gumball machine, and invite former diners back.
