Mystic Burek to Open a New Venue in Sydenham
"just over the road from the original Mystic Burek spot. Doma, meaning 'home" and opening in at the end of October, won't be a traditional cafe or restaurant, rather it'll open exclusively for special events. There'll be ticketed dinners for 25 people; events featuring traditional meals, grilled meats and hearty desserts; and the signature bureks being served on the last Saturday of every month."
"As the weather warms up next year, Doma will host outdoor dining in its garden, with the likes of whole suckling pigs, slow-cooked rib of beef in fig leaves, homemade belo sirenje (sheep's milk white cheese), traditional cakes, sour cherry baklava buns and Macedonian wines on offer. If you've missed your burek fix, you'll wanna keep an eye out for the Doma event tickets."
Spasia Dinkovski launched Mystic Burek during lockdown, selling filo pies across London and expanding into a brand celebrating Balkan cuisine with a cookbook and a Sydenham shop. The shop closed at the end of 2024. A new venue named Doma will open just over the road at the end of October. Doma will operate exclusively as a special-events space, hosting ticketed dinners for 25 and serving signature bureks on the last Saturday of each month. Outdoor garden dining next year will include whole suckling pigs, slow-cooked rib of beef in fig leaves, homemade belo sirenje, traditional cakes, sour cherry baklava buns and Macedonian wines. Address: 172 Dartmouth Rd, London SE26 4QZ. More information: @mysticburek.
