There's a new seafood spot landing in Mayfair this autumn. Lilibet's, a 160-cover restaurant from Ross Shonhan (the man behind Bone Daddies and previously Exec Chef of Zuma and Netsu), opens on 16th September at 17 Bruton Street. The menu takes its cue from a fictional Mediterranean grand tour, with seasonal seafood and British produce at its core.
Expect dishes like anchovy éclairs, whole turbot pil pil, fried crab thermidor, insta worthy seafood towers and the Fish Triptych - where one fish is served three ways: crudo, grilled and as a soup. For dessert there's a prego sandwich (that's a Portuguese steak sandwich) and a princess cake - the duo we never knew we needed until now.
The space is split across different zones, including an oyster bar, a fireside grill, a cocktail lounge and a terrace, with interiors by Russell Sage Studio that nod to the history of the address - once the birthplace of Princess Elizabeth. With a line-up that mixes raw plates, woodfired seafood, tableside service and classic cocktails, Lilibet's has one of the most exciting menus we've seen in a while.
