Living with over 20 food allergies since childhood presents unique challenges when traveling. Prior to trips, allergens are translated and staple dishes are identified to ensure safety. Despite the difficulties, exploration of nearly 35 countries has been rewarding, with particularly positive experiences in Central America and European countries like Spain and Italy. Some locations are accommodating, while others can make finding safe food options more difficult, especially in cultures with different culinary staples. Navigating these challenges has become easier with preparation and communication skills.
As someone with over 20 food allergies, traveling can be challenging, but I've learned to manage it by pre-translating my allergens and identifying safe staple dishes.
I've visited nearly 35 countries, often finding that some destinations, particularly in Central America and Europe, are more accommodating for people with allergies.
