"A location and an opportunity fell in my lap that was just like perfect for Baohaus, so I had to do it,"
"the same beef noodle soup that Ligaya Mishan reviewed [for the New York Times ] like fifteen years ago now,"
"We give you unlimited carbs, and then you order any version of small plates,"
Eddie Huang closed the original Baohaus in the East Village in 2020 after more than a decade of operation. He spent time in Los Angeles and Taiwan, where he wrote and directed a 2021 film, then returned to New York to cook at the Flower Shop, publish a Substack, and co-host the Canal Street Dreams podcast with his wife, Natashia Perrotti. The new Baohaus will occupy 97 St. Marks Place near First Avenue and partners with Russell Steinberg and Roman Grandinetti. The menu will include Baohaus classics like the Chairman and Birdhouse baos, pork and sauerkraut noodle soup, and the restaurant’s signature beef noodle soup, plus endless sweet potato xīfàn porridge and late-night service.
