Downtown San Jose's swanky Rollati Ristorante is abruptly closing

Vine Hospitality announced permanent closure of Rollati after service on Tuesday, Aug. 26 and plans to refocus resources on Left Bank Brasserie, LB Steak and Meso Modern Mediterranean at Santana Row. The ownership group expressed heartfelt thanks to customers for their support and memories at Rollati. Rollati served as the ground-floor anchor for the Miro residences and helped usher in a new era of upscale downtown dining. The nearly 7,000-square-foot space offered expansive lounge and dining areas with views of City Hall and the Sonic Runway. The menu launched with handmade pastas, signature lasagna, rabbit agrodolce and Neapolitan-style pizzas.

The ground-floor anchor for downtown San Jose's highest towers, the Miro residences, Rollati was credited with ushering in a new era of upscale dining downtown. That opening, directly across from San Jose's distinctive City Hall, was followed by Eos & Nyx last year on Paseo de San Antonio and The Pressroom at San Pedro Square earlier this year. And coming this fall to downtown is another high-end player.
It was the first contemporary Italian concept for Vine Hospitality, the parent company of the Bay Area's best-known group of French bistros, Left Bank, with locations in Menlo Park and Larkspur as well as San Jose.
