"We are the only food festival that connects Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, South America, and the U.S. South."
""Doing this around food and culture was the best way to start," he said."
The Creole Food Festival will take place Sept. 26–28 at Brooklyn's Emily Roebling Plaza, marking its seventh edition and Brooklyn debut. The three-day gathering will feature chefs, vendors and performers connected to Afro-Culture and Creole heritage from Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, South America and the U.S. South. Programming will include cooking demonstrations, educational panels, a Creole brunch, grand tastings and a new "Creole Carnival" barbecue, along with carnival-style activities and live performances. Haitian American R&B singer-songwriter Stacy Barthe will headline and debut her latest album. Admission will be free and organizers emphasize deeper community engagement and visibility for chefs of color.
