A California woman filed a class-action lawsuit after independent testing by PlasticList reportedly found phthalates in Chobani yogurt. The testing identified DEHP, DEP, DBP, and DEHT in the product. DEHP and DBP are used to make plastics more flexible, DEP commonly appears in cosmetics and can migrate from packaging, and DEHT is a newer substitute under study. Chobani moved to dismiss the case and called the allegations without merit; a court hearing indicated a formal dismissal may follow.
