Chinese noodle spot departs downtown SF food hall after less than two years
Briefly

Momo Noodle plans to exit Saluhall next month and open its first stand-alone restaurant at 455 Market St. near Salesforce Park around late September or early October. The move followed months of searching for a location closer to an existing downtown food truck to simplify operations. Saluhall opened in April 2024 with a mostly plant-based mission but has shifted toward more meat-focused offerings. Several vendors left citing sluggish sales and high costs, while new meat-oriented eateries moved in. Momo's co-founder described operating at Saluhall as valuable but restrictive due to menu limitations.
The new Momo Noodle restaurant is expected to open at 455 Market St. - near Salesforce Park - around late September or early October, co-founder June Guo confirmed with SFGATE. Guo shared that the project had been in the works for a few months as she and her team searched for an ideal location closer to an existing Momo Noodle food truck in downtown. "It'll be easier for us to operate there," Guo told SFGATE.
Earlier this year, Taqueria la Venganza parted ways with Saluhall in March due to sluggish sales. Kayma followed suit that same month. Ahead of Kayma's departure this spring, co-owner Mounir Bahloul cited the cost of doing business at Saluhall as a leading factor behind their departure, telling SFGATE, "We cannot afford to stay here." Other eateries have since moved in, including Tacos El Ultimo Baile and Cheezy's Artisan Pizza, which both offer meat options.
