Arthur's Market Review | "Made in Chelsea"
"The team behind The Prince Arthur in Belgravia (which we reviewed at the start of the year) have already launched their next place - Arthur's Market in Chelsea. Located way down the King's Road (opposite The Cadogan Arms), the space houses a deli, grocery store, butchers, fishmongers, and two restaurant concepts - ASA Izakaya and Salvador. As you can probably guess by the names, the first is a sushi counter and the second is a Spanish tapas bar."
"Particular highlights were the lean tuna nigiri and the fatty tuna temaki, spiked with a bit of smoked daikon; the saba bozushi (box sushi), a type of pressed sushi from Osaka which you don't see too often in London; and the carabineros temaki, where the prawn heads were squeezed over the temaki roll, and served alongside a part of the head that had been deep fried to golden crispiness."
Arthur's Market sits on the King's Road in Chelsea and combines a deli, grocery, butchers, fishmongers and two restaurant concepts: ASA Izakaya and Salvador. The store stocks high-grade produce including lobsters, caviar, champagne, shiso leaves and Japanese wines. ASA Izakaya operates a 12-seat sushi counter offering premium omakase and a la carte options. Chef Shaulan Steenson trained extensively in Japan and helped open Endo at the Rotunda. ASA sources super-fresh British fish from its attached fishmonger. Menu highlights include lean tuna nigiri, fatty tuna temaki with smoked daikon, saba bozushi, carabineros temaki with deep-fried prawn head, and a Chirashizushi layered with prawns, tuna, scallops and caviar.
