"I started my cookie shop business in 2013 out of my house as a cottage food business. I brought them to my work and church group, and then friends started asking to purchase a couple dozen cookies from me, which led me to begin a Yelp page,"
"I would never use a substitute for butter in the cookies like shortening or palm oil. I use pure vanilla extract and real eggs, never boxed eggs, as well as Guittard chocolate."
Antoine Tang began baking cookies at home in 2013 as a cottage food business and initially shared them with work and church groups. Demand from friends led to a Yelp page and rapid order growth that overwhelmed his site by late 2015. Tang opened a first retail location in San Mateo in 2016, added a Palo Alto shop in 2021, and opened a Los Gatos store on Oct. 1, with plans for a fourth San Francisco location. Antoine's Cookies offers 11 flavors, emphasizes real ingredients, and will soon sell cookie dough.
