A Cult-Favorite South Korean Dessert Cafe Expands to the Arts District
"At Knotted's Arts District location, find a line-up of sugar-dusted doughnuts piped with airy milk cream and packed with fresh strawberries, milk chocolate, and more. To pair, Cafe Knotted serves a slate of drinks, including matcha swirled with strawberry, a chestnut tiramisu latte, a banana latte, and an ube cream top. A handful of tables are available at the Arts District location to enjoy the doughnuts on-site, or get them packed up in Knotted's pastel pink takeout boxes."
"Echo Park cocktail bar Semi-Tropic will bring back daytime service after pausing it due to COVID-19 indoor dining restrictions. Starting December 1, Semi-Tropic serves brunch from chef Sera Pisani of pop-up Domenica Dinette every day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The menu spans dishes like Greek potatoes, a waffle topped with candied hazelnuts, and jammy eggs bedded in labne. Semi-Tropic's all-day happy hour, running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., also returns; laptops are welcome until 6 p.m."
Cafe Knotted expanded to Los Angeles' Arts District with a location that opened December 1, adjacent to Hojokban which debuted November 20. Knotted offers sugar-dusted cream doughnuts piped with airy milk cream and fillings such as fresh strawberries and milk chocolate, plus specialty drinks like matcha swirled with strawberry, chestnut tiramisu latte, banana latte, and an ube cream top; items are available to enjoy on a few tables or in pastel pink takeout boxes. AJ Kim and Scott Sohn will open Loquat Silver Lake on December 5 with limited hours. Echo Park's Semi-Tropic resumed daytime brunch service and an all-day happy hour, and dancers at Jumbo's Clown Room named favorite Los Angeles dishes including a filet mignon at Musso & Frank, tom kha at Sanamluang Café, and grilled ahi tuna at Jones Hollywood.
