The soup kitchen on Mission Street, run by Sister Mary Rene and another nun, serves free meals three times a week, benefiting locals in need. Opened in March after a generous donation, the kitchen faced initial opposition but was approved by the Planning Commission. The sisters prepare all meals on-site and also sell baked goods to fund operations. On a recent Thursday, around 70 individuals, including Reginald Starks, visited for lunch, expressing gratitude for the food and support.
