A motorist in Malibu alleges Gary Busey rear-ended her car after pulling out of a shopping center on Pacific Coast Highway and then fled. Video shows the motorist chasing Busey's Volvo, honking and demanding insurance information before catching up in a parking lot. Busey told the motorist he was "private" and mentioned Progressive insurance, then drove away while blasting The Beach Boys. The Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station confirmed a hit-and-run report was filed and that traffic detectives are investigating. Busey, 79, rose to prominence in 1970s films, later appeared on reality shows, and faced 2022 sexual-contact charges, to which he said he "was not appropriate at all" and that "nothing happened."
