John Candy: I Like Me premieres at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival with John Candy’s family, executive producer Ryan Reynolds and director Colin Hanks on the red carpet. The documentary chronicles Candy’s life on and off camera using exclusive home videos, family interviews and collaborators’ recollections to showcase a career spanning two decades. Candy starred in comedies such as Spaceballs, The Great Outdoors and Planes, Trains and Automobiles and died in 1994 at 43 after a heart attack while filming Wagon’s East. The film features tributes from Dan Aykroyd, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Steve Martin, Macaulay Culkin and Tom Hanks, and a new trailer debuted on Prime Video and Reynolds’s YouTube channel.
