""His family grows, he leaves the city, has this beautiful house, and it ends with him at a concert for Tears for Fears with his granddaughter. They're great seats, up front, and he's watching it," he said. "And he's thinking about 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World,' and youth, and what does it mean, and he has this success, but he's not doing the thing that he believed he was born on the planet to do.""
"Josh Safdie really considered ending Marty Supremewith a real zig of a supernatural zag. Speaking to Sean Baker on the A24 Podcast, Safdie confirmed that Kevin O'Leary's Milton Rockwell was going to turn out to be a literal vampire and not just a metaphorical one. And just like Sinners, it would have had a MTV generation coda. Kevin O'Leary had previously hinted at the vampire ending to Marty Supreme, saying he'd gone as far as having "digital teeth" made for it. Whatever that means."
Josh Safdie planned an alternate ending for Marty Supreme that would reveal Kevin O'Leary's Milton Rockwell as a literal vampire rather than a metaphor. The proposed finale placed Marty Mauser older, living outside the city with a granddaughter, attending a Tears For Fears concert where he reflects on youth and unfulfilled purpose. The sequence would end with an ageless Milton biting Marty on the neck. Preparations reached tests for Timothée Chalamet's old-man prosthetics, but A24 executives objected and the vampire ending was shelved. Kevin O'Leary had even prepared "digital teeth" for the idea.
