Selections curated by IndieWire's editorial team honor filmmakers, artisans, and performers behind noteworthy films. Magnify Award recipient Ryan White filmed Come See Me in the Good Light, documenting the life of genderqueer poet Andrea Gibson and writer Megan Falley. The documentary premiered at Sundance and connected deeply with audiences before Gibson's death in July, nearly five months after the premiere. A posthumous screening prompted Falley to cry and express that Gibson felt alive on screen. White and producer Jessica Hargrave saw Gibson a week before the death and had not anticipated the timing of their passing.
