Right-wingers rage as Masters of the Universe trailer features He-Man's pronouns
"Yet despite the visual feast, rage baiters have fixated on one brief moment where Adam, still enduring his average Joe human life, has his name and pronouns, he/him, written on a placard on his desk at his office job. Though it's obviously a tongue-in-cheek nod to Adam's future title of He-Man, some have let the joke go way over their heads."
"'Now they're making a Masters of the Universe and giving He-man pronouns. These people won't stop until they ruin everything,' wrote one author on a book about 'Christian values' on X, formerly Twitter. 'They're giving He-Man pronouns,' another user responded, drolly pointing out the obvious joke. Mercifully, the smart reply has received more than 150,000 'likes' on the platform."
Amazon MGM Studios released the first trailer for the live-action Masters of the Universe movie featuring Nicholas Galitzine as Adam/He-Man. The plot follows Adam living on Earth until he must return to Eternia to reclaim the Sword of Power and become He-Man. Jared Leto appears as Skeletor and the trailer showcases action, explosions, spacecraft, monsters, and numerous sword fights. A brief shot shows Adam's desk placard listing his name and pronouns, he/him. Some online commentators reacted angrily, calling the film 'woke garbage' and decrying cultural change, while others mocked the outrage and celebrated the witty rebuttals.
