Denzel Washington claimed he filmed a same-sex kiss in "Gladiator II," but director Ridley Scott denied it, stating, 'They never did. They acted the moment... it didn't happen.'
Washington clarified his statement by describing the moment as a 'peck on the lips,' emphasizing its insignificance: 'It really is much ado about nothing... I gave him a peck and I killed him.'
Producer Michael Pruss explained the film's lengthy original cut led to many scenes being cut: 'There was so much stuff that was shot that didn't make it into the film. It was truly a non-event.'
Connie Nielsen, who stars alongside Washington, commented on the edits saying, 'It's not homophobia. It's just there was no room for it,' reflecting the constraints of film length.
