During a recent visit to the London Screen Academy, Prince William engaged with students and explored the academy dedicated to teaching film and TV skills. He underscored the importance of inclusivity, resonating with co-founder Tim Bevan's remarks about the need for broader representation in the industry. The academy aims to provide diverse students with hands-on experience and academic qualifications, breaking down barriers to entry in a field often perceived as elitist. This initiative reflects a larger push towards inclusivity within a thriving but exclusive industry.
"We wanted to provide the opportunity for people from diverse backgrounds, from not so much privilege," said co-founder Tim Bevan, highlighting the need for diversity in film.
"Although there might be a successful TV and film industry in the UK, access to jobs is still too often limited to 'white, middle class' youngsters," noted Bevan.
