Oscar winner Guillermo Del Toro to serve as Guest Artistic Director for AFI Fest

Guillermo del Toro will serve as Guest Artistic Director for AFI FEST 2025. AFI FEST will take place October 22–26 in Hollywood. Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is the previously announced opening night film. ABC7 and On The Red Carpet are the festival broadcast partners. Del Toro is an Academy Award–winning director known for Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy, Pacific Rim and The Shape of Water. Del Toro's next project is a live-action remake of Frankenstein. Past Guest Artistic Directors have included Pedro Almodóvar, Bernardo Bertolucci, Ava DuVernay, Greta Gerwig, David Lynch and Agnès Varda.
