Michael Caine, 92, has returned from retirement to reprise his priest role in The Last Witch Hunter 2 alongside Vin Diesel, helping an immortal warrior confront a global plague. Caine first retired in 2009 after Harry Brown and again in 2021 following Best Sellers. He later appeared in Medieval (2022) and The Great Escaper (2023) as a D-Day veteran. A planned Charles Darwin project did not materialize, though Disney has a Darwin film in development. The original The Last Witch Hunter received mixed reviews but achieved substantial international box office and strong streaming viewership.
