Mexican trans woman responds to Emilia Perez controversy by making 'French' parody
Briefly

In response to criticisms surrounding the French film Emilia Pérez for its Eurocentric production and minimal representation of Mexican talent, trans content creator Camila Aurora and screenwriter Héctor Guillén have created a parody musical titled Johanne Sacrebleu. The film centers on a trans heiress navigating familial rivalries over baguettes and croissants, while tackling broader themes like racism. With all songs being original, the film has garnered 750,000 views and aims to spotlight Mexican talent, contrasting sharply with Emilia Pérez’s criticisms.
Their way of making the film is to disregard so many in the [film] industry in Mexico... Having a few Mexicans in there does not stop it from being a Eurocentric production.
It tells the story of a trans woman who is an heiress to the biggest baguette producer in France and falls in love with Agtugo Ratatouille, the trans heir.
Aurora's parody has already reached 750,000 views, with the caption reading: 'The project you have been waiting for so much is ready.'
