Tala, an animator and co-founder of Two Toes, creates engaging visual storytelling for various causes and brands. Her projects reflect an inventive mixture of animation styles, showcasing beauty in the mundane. Recently, she utilized various materials for a music video and repurposed poor-quality film in her short Night In. Tala begins her creative process with warm-up activities and draws inspiration from her personal visual library, enjoying the playful exploration of materials she loves to create new realities.
To create a unique visual language for each animated piece, Tala can find herself starting out on a project in a number of different ways.
The goal with her animation work of late? To "always surprise myself with something new", Tala says.
It's like getting to explore a strange new reality made out of only things I love," she shares.
Now flying solo, Tala's portfolio is fit to bursting with inventive mix-media animations, witty wordplay and sensitive interpretations of the beauty that she finds in all things that might be considered 'mundane' or 'everyday'.
