Killer Heat review overcooked Jo Nesb adaptation is deathly dull
Briefly

What might seem like a fairly easy ask on paper has become a bizarrely effortful slog in the misshape of Killer Heat, a dull and predictable sunshine noir.
Nick's by-the-numbers investigation is aided by some really rather heinous, at times parody-level, voiceover, suggesting a deeper exploration that never materializes.
The mystery unravels with such a formulaic lack of surprise that we're convinced something twistier is being kept for the finale, but the final reveals are just as expected.
This would maybe be less egregious if there were more genuine effort put into crafting the screenplay, rather than relying on clichés and predictable twists.
